We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic doctor to join the Paediatric Neurology and Neuromuscular Team at the Leeds Children’s Hospital.

All tertiary Paediatric services are centred in the Leeds Children’s Hospital, within Leeds General Infirmary in Leeds city centre which has excellent transport links.

The successful applicant will work alongside six paediatric neurologists, four paediatric neurosurgeons and a Consultant in Neuro-rehabilitation providing cover for paediatric neurosciences both in Leeds and across the region. They will work in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The team are committed to delivering excellent care to children with neurological disorders in Yorkshire and are fully engaged with clinical governance and research.

The neuromuscular service has been recognised as one of the national centres of clinical excellence for children’s neuromuscular care in the UK since 2014. We have now expanded our research portfolio and have been recognised as 1 of 2 UK Research Hub sites outside the national research centres. As a consequence, Duchenne UK have part-funded this post which will provide an excellent opportunity for developing research skills and experience. Leeds is a centre for a number of observational and interventional studies in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The successful applicant will be expected to take part in research clinics and activities.

The successful applicant should be able to work at ST4 level or above or to be able to demonstrate equivalent level experience. Experience in paediatric neurology and with managing children with neuromuscular conditions is desirable but not essential.
