Consultant in Paediatrics with Specialist Interest in Diabetes

Applications from experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic clinicians are invited for a 10PA Consultant Paediatrician with Special interest in Paediatric Diabetes post at Newham University Hospital (NUH).
The successful candidate will work in the women and children’s division at NUH which is part of Barts Health NHS Trust; one of the largest NHS Trust in the UK.
The post holder will join an established team of 5 Paediatricians and complement the Diabetic Services alongside another consultant in the department. The service is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) and Dieticians. The department works collaboratively with the other 3 sites in the Trust and also closely with the Diabetes network. There is scope for further collaborative working with GPs in the community.
To be considered for the post, you must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of achieving a CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview as well as having achieved SPIN Module in diabetes. You should have appropriate training and experience in general Paediatric and Paediatric Diabetes. There is a requirement to do a monthly endocrinology clinic; experience in that specialty is required.
The Paediatric rainbow ward is a very busy department looking after very deprived and young paediatric population. The diabetic services are also very busy with high volume work load, applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage their work load in an organised manner as well as work well under pressure.
The Trust employs over 9,500 multidisciplinary staff across five hospital sites, making it one of the largest Trusts in the UK. Acute general hospital services are provided for the population who live in the North East of London.
