An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology with extensive experience in intraoperative neuro monitoring to join the Department of Neurosciences at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The Neurosciences department at King’s College Hospital is one of the largest Regional Neuroscience Units in the UK and the appointee to this post will work closely with the existing neurophysiology and neurosurgery teams in a intraoperative neuro monitoring capacity across all neurosurgical sub specialities represented in the department including complex spine, pituitary, neurotrauma, skull base, neuro-oncology, DBS, epilepsy and paediatric neurosurgery.

The post holder should already have extensive experience in intraoperative neuro monitoring and be willing to devote at least 80% of their clinical time to working on intraoperative neuro monitoring. They will have a proven track record of intraoperative monitoring at a consultant level and be willing to work closely as part of neurosurgery to further development the already well established intraoperative neuro monitoring internal service, clinically, academically and in terms of governance. Being a very busy service it is essential that the successful candidates have the energy and flexibility to integrate within a busy and thriving neurosciences department.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years), therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
