Job description

Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital announces a search for Department Chair of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. The 27 physicians and 19 nurse practitioners of the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) group provide care for newborns and inpatient general and subspecialty pediatric patients.  Practicing at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s 2 regional hubs, Cleveland Clinic’s main campus for subspecialty care, and the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, the PHM providers are foundational to the pediatric care provided in Northeast Ohio. Additionally, PHM providers play a pivotal role in the Cleveland Clinic Pediatric postgraduate education programs, providing subspecialty training via their ACGME accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship, general pediatric training to residents in the renowned Cleveland Clinic Pediatric residency, and to medical students enrolled in both the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and the traditional CWRU School of Medicine.

Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Hospital Medicine subspecialists at the Associate Professor or Professor level are invited to apply.  The ideal candidate is an expert clinician, with dedication to and expertise in education, quality improvement, and/or scholarship, who can work collaboratively within an integrated, multi-specialty organization such as the Cleveland Clinic. Strong leadership competencies are key success elements for the role. Working with the Pediatric Institute Chair, the PHM Chair will have ultimate responsibility for the clinical, educational, research, quality, and fiscal oversight within the department to achieve personal and institutional success.
