Are you a Consultant Rheumatologist looking to join a patient-centred and forward thinking team based in North Wales? Are you just starting out on your consultant journey and looking for somewhere that will provide mentorship and guidance as you develop? Then look no further than here in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the rheumatology team based in Wrexham Maelor Hospital. We currently have two posts vacant and our aim is to appoint to these to further strengthen our award-winning multi-disciplinary team, which consists of specialist nurses, pharmacist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. Successful applicants will become a part of a 3-person consultant team who work closely together to support patients and develop the service. The team are currently involved with developing DEXA services in the area.

We welcome applicants who may wish to work part time or annualised hours. We work closely with colleagues based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and North West Wales so alternative bases can be explored if requested. The service is managed from within the Area East division which has helped to develop relationships with primary care and community services.

We welcome colleagues who wish to undertake research and education as we have good links with local universities and the North Wales Clinical Research Centre.

The base of Wrexham Maelor Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with its areas of outstanding natural beauty, and within easy reach of Chester, Liverpool & Manchester.

You are required to be on the Specialist Register, have CCST’s in rheumatology or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.

The successful candidates will be appointed to the amended Welsh Consultant Contract with a current salary range of £72,927 - £94,679 per annum. In addition Consultants will be eligible for Commitment Awards up to a maximum of £24,410 per annum. We are happy to consider annualised hours.
