The Helios Dr. Horst Schmidt Clinics Wiesbaden are a hospital of the state capital Wiesbaden and the Helios Kliniken Group as well as Academic Teaching Hospital of the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. As the maximum provider of 25 clinics and 5 institutes, Helios HSK, with approximately 1,000 beds, supplies more than 45,000 inpatients and more than 100,000 outpatients a year. In addition, the Helios HSK are one of the seven coordination centers for oncology in the state of Hesse. 

The Department of Neurology has a cross-regional Comprehensive Stroke Unit with a total of 30 certified beds (12 monitor beds and 18 additional normal ward beds), another neurological regular ward, and cares for intensive care patients in the interdisciplinary intensive care unit. A particularly prominent focus is vascular neuromedicine, including endovascular stroke therapy. All diagnostic (duplex sonography, EEG, EMG, neurography, evoked potentials, FEES, angiography) and therapeutic (thrombolysis, mechanical recanalization, endovascular aneurysm care, neuro-intensive care) methods are available. In addition, the clinic operates §116b special outpatient clinics for patients with multiple sclerosis and with epilepsy and an affiliated medical care center.

Your tasks

Depending on the problem, coordinated medical care of the patients and the assurance of the operational procedure, the medical quality and the interdisciplinary communication in cooperation with other professional groups are coordinated with the responsible head physician or clinic director.
