Applications are invited for the posts of Consultant in Elderly Care Medicine at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT). We are looking to appoint two consultant geriatricians to join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Both are 10 PA consultant posts in Elderly Care Medicine with an interest in Interface Geriatrics.

We expect both posts to rotate on a two monthly basis between Interface Geriatrics and one of our Acute Elderly Care Wards. Each post will also involve a commitment to an outpatient clinic (either Falls or Movement Disorders) with an opportunity to further develop these services. The posts will also include participation in the Elderly Care Physician on call rota at approximately 1:10.

The successful applicants will work alongside another three consultants in Interface Geriatrics (two of whom spend some of their time in either Acute Medicine or Community Geriatrics); and with a team of junior doctors providing high quality care for older people in the admission and short stay areas.

Reading itself has excellent fast transport links to London and is situated close to the motorway network and Heathrow Airport.

Applicants must possess MRCP with full General Medical Council (GMC) Registration. They should have obtained CCT in Geriatric Medicine and General Medicine, or expect to obtain within six months of the interview date.

Successful applicants will be required to attend an assessment on the 4th November 2019 followed by a formal interview on the 12th November 2019.
