Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a board certified/board eligible otolaryngologist-rhinologist for a full-time academic position in the rank of Assistant Professor (10113) without tenure. This new faculty position would divide clinical responsibilities between two of our extraordinary teaching hospitals. 

This position will be based at the University of Washington Medical Center and VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The individual will function in a multi-disciplinary practice environment which includes fellow, resident and medical student teaching and clinical or basic science research. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

This position is a 12 month service period position, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2020.

Qualifications

Individuals for this outstanding opportunity should have interest and experience in rhinology and sinus surgery, and be fellowship trained in this specialty. Candidates must have a background and interest in research that focuses on these areas critical to our specialty.

Minimum qualifications include an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), certified or eligible to certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology (or foreign equivalent), and eligible for a Washington State medical license. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
