Assistant Professorship (non tenure track) for Hepatology

Job description

The position is limited to six years (3+3). It is hosted at the Clinic for Gastroenterology andHepatology of the University Hospital Zurich. 


The Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the University Hospital Zurich (USZ)provides highly specialized clinical services and enjoys an excellent national and internationalreputation. Hepatology plays a central role at the USZ, as it treats the largest proportion ofstationary gastroenterological patients. 

The assistant professorship is associated with aperspective senior physician position at the USZ. There is the prospect of assumingresponsibility for the hepatological field of the clinic in the medium term.The assistant professor represents the subject in teaching, research and services. Theassistant professorship comprises teaching tasks within the curriculum of medical studies aswell as in specialist further training, advanced training and the promotion of young scientists. 

The successful candidate should be a qualified and experienced clinician with academicexperience in research and teaching. The FMH specialist title in Gastroenterology or arecognized equivalent is compulsory; the FMH specialist title in Hepatology is desirable. 

Your research activities in the field of Hepatology are internationally recognized andsupported by the successful acquisition of competitive third-party funds. You have a teamoriented attitude, are committed to interdisciplinary cooperation and are highly motivated topromote young scientists. Good organizational skills and a high ability to work under pressureare required. For clinical practice, knowledge of the German language is mandatory;however, the successful candidate will be expected to acquire some proficiency in Germanover time.
