Consultant Neurologist

This exciting post has become available following the retirement of the previous post-holder.

The successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly multidisciplinary team comprising Consultants, a Middle Grade doctor and Specialist Nurses. Currently the funded medical establishment for the neurology department is 3.18 WTE Consultants (with a business case for a further post in preparation) and 0.45 WTE Specialty Doctor.

As well as providing general neurological services, the department runs clinics for the following sub-specialties: Epilepsy, Migraine (both Botox and Nerve Block injection clinics), Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.

Initially the post will be offered on a contract for 10 Programmed Activities per week including 8 PAs for direct clinical care and 2 PAs for supporting professional activities.

There is the potential to increase this to a 12PA contract to reflect the development of a special interest or additional direct clinical sessions. The job plan will be reviewed after 3 months in post.
