Consultant Occupational Health Physician
At Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
We require an enthusiastic and motivated Clinician to join us as our Clinical Lead for Occupational Health and Wellness at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. This influential role will join the Head of Health and Wellness and the Specialist Clinical Manager to design and develop modern, vibrant services for Health and Social Care Colleagues across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The Health and Wellness Service also provides services to small and medium local businesses which contribute to a diverse and varied client base.
We offer a wide range of services, from health promotion and early intervention to pro-active and crisis management intervention; this includes specialist occupational health nursing, physiotherapy and onsite counselling.
For the right candidate(s) we will provide a flexible working life, as we look to offer the minimum of 6 PA’s per week. Focussed on values and behaviours, we are looking for candidates that can join our team and continue to support the development of our service as the Trust continues to undertake a Journey to Brilliant. In return we will support you to be the very best you can be through education, training and development and access to some of the best research, development and innovation services in the country. We are extremely fortunate to have the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, affiliated with Exeter University, on our Truro site.
We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country so we can offer a fantastic work life balance. We are well known for our research, development and innovation and we are passionate about supporting our people to be the best they can be. At the same time we offer the opportunity to live in a county where the sea is never far away, the arts and music scene is vibrant and London or Manchester is only an hour away from Newquay Airport.
We deliver over 30000 anaesthetics per annum in most surgical specialities, critical care and pain management to the 550 000 population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly; based in Truro, and also incorporating two peripheral hospitals in Hayle and Penzance.
We are a large district general hospital and retain specialist services that are being centralised in other regions. Our case-mix is varied, suitably challenging, and progressively interesting.
