Consultant Gynaecologist with a Special Interest in Gynae-Oncology

Job description

The University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) invite applications for 1 whole-time Gynaecological consultant with a Specialist Interest in oncology. This is a new post and has arisen as part of a workforce expansion programme to manage the growing demand for gynaecological cancer services in Leicestershire.

The Gynaecological Oncology team at UHL is of high quality with a proven track record of service innovation for the benefit of patients and is supported by The Trust objectives and strategy to improve the delivery of cancer care across a diverse population. The Specialist Interest post will have a focus on the delivery of the diagnostic phase of the cancer pathway to enable delivery of cancer wait times standards. Applicants must be able to demonstrate tertiary hospital level skills, team working and the ability to develop and/or contribute to training programmes.

Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register, have evidence of skills in management of early gynaecological cancers and be proficient in Gynaecological minimally invasive surgery.

Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training.
