Consultant Colorectal Surgeon

Job description

Applications are invited for this exciting opportunity as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to join the dynamic and expanding Colorectal Department at Northern Devon NHS Trust.  The ideal applicant will have experience of the full range of colorectal surgery, including being JAG accredited for colonoscopies.  The post will join a team of nine other consultants (two upper GI, three colorectal, two general GI surgeons, one breast, and one vascular), based at The Northern Devon Healthcare Trust, providing care for patients at North Devon District Hospital and across Community Hospitals.

The Trust provides a wide range of district hospital, community health and social care services to over 160,000 residents across North Devon and to thousands of visitors the region receives every summer. 

Located in the South West of England, North Devon is recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.  It extends from the edge of Exmoor in the east to Lundy Island in the west and the Taw Valley in the south providing contrasts of moor land, downs, valleys, rugged cliffs and golden sandy beaches, thus providing a range of interests and activities. 

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with licence to practice and be eligible for inclusion on the GMC’s Specialist Register (or expected entry within six months from the date of interview).
