Consultant Plastics Surgeon with an interest in Breast

This is fantastic opportunity to be involved in one of the busiest major trauma centres in the country and also the largest trust in England. This is a substantive consultant 10 PA post and will join a current body of seven substantive Consultant posts within the Plastic Surgery Department and will be the second to join the team with a particular interest and expertise in breast reconstruction. We have a well-established breast reconstruction unit at the Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew’s and have formed close links with the Oncoplastics team. The new appointee will be expected to attend a weekly breast cancer MDT meeting as well as a weekly MDT clinic. In addition regular theatre sessions will be available to perform immediate as well as delayed DIEP’s. A Breast microfellowship would be of great advantage to this post. The new appointee will be expected to function as an integral member of the breast multi-disciplinary team based at Barts Health and will have opportunities to attend out-reach clinics in our spoke hospitals. We are keen to strengthen our breast cancer clinical commitments, clinical research and training and make it a truly consultant delivered service.
