Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a Specialist Interest In Skin Cancer

This is fantastic opportunity to be involved in one of the busiest major trauma centres in the country and also the largest trust in England. This is a substantive consultant 10 PA post and will join a current body of seven substantive Consultant posts within the Plastic Surgery Department and the second to join the team with a particular interest and expertise in the management of skin malignancies. We have a well-established skin cancer unit at the Royal London Hospital and work closely with our fellow Dermatologists, Clinical Oncologists, and Radiotherapists to provide a truly multi-modal approach to patient care. The new appointee will be expected to attend a weekly skin cancer MDT meeting as well as a weekly MDT clinic. The new appointee will also have the opportunity to develop a complex wounds clinic. In addition regular theatre sessions will be available to perform the resection and reconstruction of skin malignancies, SLNB’s, lymphadenectomies and ECT. A melanoma fellowship would be of great advantage to this post. The new appointee will be expected to function as an integral member of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary team based at Barts Health and will have opportunities to attend out-reach clinics in our spoke hospitals. We are keen to strengthen our skin cancer clinical commitments, clinical research and training and make it a truly consultant delivered service.
