Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a 6.5 PA Consultant post in Community Paediatrics.

This is a replacement post to support in addressing the increasing demands on the Community Paediatric service. The appointee will join the current team of 4 Community Paediatricians and will be based at Airedale General Hospital. Each community paediatrician works predominantly within a specific locality and there is also the opportunity to lead the service in their area of interest.

The appointment will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Consultant Contract (2003) and as such will be for 6.5 PAs. The new consultant will need to agree a job plan with the Chief Executive for the Trust. The job description, job plan and hours worked are subject to review on an annual basis by discussion with your appraiser and subsequently the Clinical Director.

The successful candidate will join the existing acute and community paediatricians in providing an integrated Paediatric service throughout the wide geographical area covered by the Trust. There is good communication and integrated working between the Community and Acute paediatricians with the aim of providing a seamless and coordinated service for children and their families in the most convenient location for them.

The role includes the assessment and management of children with developmental delay, disability, behavioural concerns and vulnerable children within the community paediatric clinics, contribution to the autism service and medical input to the education, health and care plan process. Multi-agency and team working is an integral part of this job.
