Consultant In Infectious Diseases & General Internal Medicine

Job description

This is a replacement post, the consultant will be responsible for up to 16 beds, including 6 isolation beds on a specialist unit. The consultant will work in conjunction with an existing consultant who is split 50:50 with the Medical Admissions Unit and a Medical Microbiology Consultant. There are up to 8 Microbiology/ID trainees rotating through the department. The post is full time (10 PA’s) with a further PA for Medicine on call.

This is an exciting time to come to Infectious Diseases at NBT. We are looking to enhance Infection Sciences at NBT. There is an integrated Infection Sciences department in pathology, in new purpose built facilities. This has a national and an international reputation. There are many opportunities for co working that can be established, allowing the post holders will have the chance to set up the service as they would like.
