Consultant Anaesthetist (10 PA)

King’s College Hospital requires a full time Consultant Anaesthetist with a subspecialty interest in urology, trauma and orthopaedic surgery. They will have significant involvement in the delivery of emergency anaesthesia both during daytime cover and as part of the general consultant on-call rota. The department covers most anaesthesia specialities, and a dynamic individual with supplementary interests would be welcomed.

In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Anaesthetic Department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

The post holder will be based mainly at the DH site but may work flexibly across the KCH sites. There will be 7.5 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with the remainder being allocated for On Call (1PA), Supporting Professional (CPD 1 SPA) and/or other Activities (0.5 SPA/PA). The post holder will join the General Anaesthetic Consultant on Call rota at DH which is a 1 in 12 non-resident rota.

The post-holder is required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register at the date of interview, or be on a recognised training programme and within six months of being eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register.
