Junior Specialist Doctor (Higher) (equivalent to StR 3 or above) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The post is suitable for trainees who have more than 5 years’ experience in O&G

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology service at University Hospitals Birmingham, working at HGS. We have one full time 12 month vacancy. The emphasis would be on training in a wide variety of aspects under Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Although this is not a Deanery recognised post, training will have comparable training opportunities to a numbered registrar post.

The appointee will be working within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialties. This role is predominately based at the Heartlands hospital site; however the job plan may require clinical activity at both Solihull and Good Hope hospital. The successful candidate will also provide support to the emergency on-call service (1:8 rota). The post-holder will be expected to have significant experience in the assessment of Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergencies at the StR 3 level, be registered with the GMC and expected to hold the Part I MRCOG or MBBS equivalent. This post is suited for trainees who want exposure to emergency and elective obstetrics and gynaecology.
