Junior Clinical Fellow Obstetrics & Gynaecology

At AmongDoctors EventsManchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Job description

Applicants are invited for a Clinical Fellow (ST1/2 equivalent) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Up to six posts will be available from August 2018 through to August 2019 (six month or 12 month contracts available).

Saint Mary’s Hospital is a large teaching hospital which provides both secondary level care for its local population and tertiary level care for women across the North West of England. The workload is therefore varied and interesting. Services are based in a modern purpose-built facility. This stimulating and pleasant working environment provides opportunities for developing general skills in obstetrics and gynaecology, but also provides the opportunity to gain experience of the more specialised areas such as fetal maternal medicine, gynaecological oncology, reproductive medicine and uro-gynaecology. Clinical services are also provided at Trafford Hospital and Salford Royal Hospital.

The above post is suitable for doctors wishing to gain clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, either to pursue a career in the specialty or to complement their career in another specialty. The post offers the successful candidate a wide range of experience in all areas of the specialty. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, the appointee will be supported by an Educational Supervisor to meet their career and educational goals.

The post holder will work at a level equivalent to that of the ST1/2 trainee. Applicants must have completed Foundation competencies either as part of the UK Foundation programme or demonstrate equivalent training. Basic Life Support training is essential. We would welcome applications from doctors wishing to work part time or on a job share basis.

You will participate on a full shift rota shared with 21 ST1/2 equivalent doctors, which includes 4 + 3 night blocks.

Salary will be on the ST (Fixed) pay scale which ranges from £30,605 to £40,491 per annum.

The interviews will be held on Monday 21st May pm.
